	The Teatro di San Carlo opera house in Naples, Italy is the oldest continuously active such venue in Europe and it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Teatro di San Carlo was inaugurated in 4 November 1737. At the time it was the largest opera house in the world, seating 3,300. Most of the noted ballerinas and ballet masters of centuries were associated with it.
